Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then found numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials say preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
A senior representative commented the incident made him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
